Intensive Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were wounded.

The strikes follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
